Toyota to Invest $383 Million in the USA

Toyota, a prominent Japanese multinational automotive manufacturer, has decided to speed up its manufacturing endeavors in the US region. The company has confirmed its plan to invest approx USD 383 million in US production. This proposed investment will support the manufacturing of four-cylinder engines, including variants for hybrid electric vehicles.

The company wants to strengthen its efforts to manufacture fuel-efficient vehicles. It also wants to give special emphasis in designing advanced electrified vehicles. “These investments will allow us to meet customer demands quickly as per changing market sentiments. The USA has been a very special market for our company and we are thus committed to investing in America with our best possible strength,” said Norm Bafunno, Senior Vice President, Unit Manufacturing and Engineering, Toyota.

In a press release, Toyota has provided further details on how it is going to invest this money. Majorly, this gigantic amount will be spent on four of its plants in the USA which include Alabama, Kentucky, Missouri, and Tennessee.

Toyota Alabama: USD 222 Million
It will be used to expand its manufacturing capacity to produce engines by 114,000 square feet

Toyota Kentucky: USD 16 Million
It will be used to expand its four-cylinder engine line

Toyota Missouri: USD 109 Million
It will be used to buy new equipment to build four-cylinder engines

Toyota Tennessee: USD 36 Million
It will be used to update equipment to build four-cylinder engines

It is committed to the growth of America and is doing various things to support the local economies and building communities. Recently, Toyota has initiated one program to support Pre K-12 education to help needy students to gain skills and prepare them for the job market.
