On Saturday, the Chairman of Infosys, Nandan Nilekani said, “Infosys gave a capital return of over Rs 24,100 crore in 2021-22 and it repurchased shares of more than 11,000 crores.” He also added that the board had proposed a final dividend of Rs 16 per share: along with an interim of Rs 15 per share which amounts to a total of Rs 31 per share in the Financial year of 2021-22. This was also told to the shareholders at the 41st annual general meeting of Infosys.

Nilekani also said, “Corporate leaders have to deal with the complexities and challenges of the post-pandemic world along with slowing growth, supply chain disruptions, soaring inflation, rapidly rising interest rates of recession. Yet, every one of these challenges presents a tremendous opportunity to transition to new ways to gain market share.” The company reported its fastest growth in the financial year 2022 compared to the last 11 years.

Salil Parekh, the CEO and MD of Infosys, said the cloud segment rose by 40% in FY22 and accounted for almost  60% of the company’s income. He also added, “Another area of strong attention has been the way we have grown our large deals pie. In FY22 we had 94 deals which were in the $50 million size and that gave us the total deal size to $9.5 billion. One of the strongest foundations for this year and future years of growth.”

According to Parekh, Infosys would keep collaborating with the government to ensure efficient operations. “More than 7 crore returns were submitted last year. More than 40 lakh returns for this year have already been submitted. In contrast to last year, when more than two crore statutory forms were handled, this year we have processed little around 40 lakh,”
